Vices and Old Wounds are a long way from home. So please come out and watch them play some songs and have a good time. Old Wounds has had a tough time on this tour and is spending $1000s on their transmission to play these shows. The least we can do is bang our head for them.

This year I tried pretty hard…released 2 EP’s, played a handful of local shows, did my first tour since 2005 and met a lot of cool new people. Can’t want to see what 2013 brings! I can tell you we have new releases, shows and hopefully a US tour in store! - December 9, 2012

This is a rant about hardcore.

It is not hard for me to feel jaded. It usually happens in a single night. Sometimes I ask myself “Am I too old for this?” or tell myself “you’ve tried your best, but it will never change.” For the last 14 years of my life I have been involved in music. By involved, I mean playing in bands, putting out records, touring, putting on shows, running a diy venue, being involved with a co-op record store, starting a co-op record label with some of my best friends at the time, and trying to be that guy who gives advice and guidance to young bands. The last 14 years have had lots of ups and downs. I’ve watched people come and go. I’ve had friends die. I put out records that didn’t sell. I put on shows that no one came to. I’ve put myself into debt that I am still paying off. All of this in an attempt to do one thing, build community. It has been a struggle, because it has never become what I envisioned or wanted it to be. Although a couple of times we got pretty damn close.

So all these years have done one thing to me, and that is educate me. And every time I feel like giving up, I have to remember when Zoli from Ignite yells “Education without action, does nothing!” I have to remember how excited I get every time I hear the horns for New Direction. I have to remember the passion I feel every time I yell “We are born into suffering” with Trial. I have to remember how I feel like stomping my feet through the floor when I hear the drums to Break Down The Walls. All of these songs I started listening to in my early teens and I still love them in late 20’s. So when a band or a group of kids makes me feel jaded or like giving up, I will play these four songs.

And maybe it’s a lost cause, but I’ll keep trying.
